Rosemary from my garden bed

“The essence of Rosemary is the deep satisfaction of creating something yourself, something that is lasting and meaningful. The sense of home that Rosemary can bring is the harbinger for all of us that we can build whatever we need to house our desires, our longings, our sense of place. Rosemary is at the door waiting to sit down at the table with you and celebrate.” ~Anne Louise Burdett & Chelsea Granger, creators of Dirt Gems

Rosemary is a special plant and a staple wherever I garden. When I think of it, smell it, or in its presence, I remember home. It is sturdy, resilient, and has a beautiful aromatic scent that instantly reminds me of the good meals and memories that are created in the kitchen with my family. As a popular culinary herb, I know a lot of us are familiar with the feel, smell, and taste of Rosemary. As I grow deeper in my herbal studies, I am learning more about all the wisdom that Rosemary can offer.

In today’s episode, I will be talking about this beautiful plant and I'm not alone. I invited my good friend and fellow herbalist

to discuss all of the great ways that Rosemary is currently impacting our lives. Marasia describes herself as a soul care herbalist, who provides herbal support for the heart & soul. She is the founder of Center Sage Herbal Remedies and creator of A Sage Named Simone, a publication where she shares about her own self love affair & spiritual journey.

I do hope that we can bring a different side of Rosemary that you may not be familiar with, especially the ways it is known to be a plant of remembrance. This is why I knew to specifically reach out to Marasia to discuss the power of Rosemary. She creates an amazing body oil that I love. It is full of beautiful herbs that are soothing to the skin and the soul, but the one herb that stands out in this blend is Rosemary. Not surprisingly, the name of this body oil is Remember Yourself.

In this conversation, we talk about the origins of this body oil, what Rosemary is teaching us in this season, and the journey to reclaim the inner wise and wild one within us. We also shared four songs that embody the energy and lessons that Rosemary brings to each of us. The songs are embedded below in a short playlist I created. I am deeply grateful for Marasia sitting down and sharing space to talk about this sacred medicine. This soulful conversation left me so full. I hope you enjoy! Let me know in the comments how you partner with Rosemary and if there is a song that reminds you about its energy and power.
